It was very early yesterday morning when Xbox finally put an end to the rumors and officially announced their cheaper next-generation console, the Xbox Series S. Not only did we get a better look at the console but they slapped the price tag on it and gave an official release date! Today, they’ve also announced the official price of the long-awaited Xbox Series X and its release date as well. The Series S comes in at an extremely fair price of $299 and the Series X comes in at a decent price of $499. Both consoles are slated to release on November 10th, 2020!

Xbox also released an announcement trailer showing off the S console’s specs and visual concept. It’s an interesting looking console that seems reminiscent of a sub-woofer. I actually dig it though. Because it’s a digital-only console, it’s smaller a design than the Series X. Almost 60% smaller in fact.

I’m actually pretty pumped for the Series S and what it has to offer. There’s a strong push for Game Pass when they show this thing off and that’s something that I enjoy personally. It’s a great service with fantastic games to offer. During the ongoing pandemic, this is also a saving grace for people who are having a harder time but still want to enjoy the transition to the next-gen.

Pre-orders for both consoles will begin on September 22nd. Players who may still be struggling during the pandemic can also take advantage of Xbox All Access. It’s a monthly program that starts at $24.99 a month and offers you either next-gen console and 24 months of Game Pass Ultimate.

So to recap, the all-digital Series S is $299 and Series X is $499 and both will release on November 10th. This release date has already shifted launch dates for upcoming games as well. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla moved its date from the 17th of November to the 10th this morning. I’m highly anticipating Sony’s debut of the PlayStation 5’s price tag. It’s only a matter of time now before we know.
