YAKUZA 3,4 And 5 Are Getting Remastered For The PS4

A few months after the release of Yakuza 6, Sega announced via this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine in Japan, that the PlayStation 3 titles Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 will all be making their way to the PlayStation 4 in Japan. Sega said that its current timeframe for the release of the PS4 port of the three games will be somewhere within 12 months.

Details regarding the re-release of the PlayStation 3 titles are scarce. However, we know that these new remasters won’t be full-on remakes similar to Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2. Instead, they will just be remastered titles which will receive aesthetic enhancements and improved frame rates. Content-wise however, the games will remain the same as their PS3 counterparts. Furthermore, the remastered versions of Yakuza 3,4, and 5 will run at 1080P at 60 FPS.

Yakuza 3 is slated to release in Japan on August 9, while Yakuza 4 will follow in Fall and lastly, Yakuza 5 in Spring of 2019. Unfortunately, there is no confirmation on whether the remasters will get a Western release. However, given the popularity of the series worldwide, with localized versions of Yakuza games available, it is inevitable that Sega will announce an international release soon.
