ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA: DAWN OF RAGNORAK Arrives Next March

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is about to get even bigger when its next expansion arrives next March. Ubisoft announced today that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök will be the next, major DLC in the game’s second planned year of support. The announcement came in a reveal trailer that introduces the expansion’s story and teases some of the new abilities players will be able to wield.

Dawn of Ragnarök focuses on the ties between Eivor and Odin and features more of Odin’s story after the events of the base game. Odin, now one-eye and all-seeing, must save the dwarven people and rescue his son, Baldr, from the invading forces of Muspelheim and their leader, the fire giant Surtr. Surtr is a prominent figure in the Norse legend of Ragnarök, as it is his flames that are prophesied to bring about the end of the world.

The Dawn of Ragnarök trailer doesn’t feature any gameplay, but it does offer some teases of the divine powers Odin can harness. He can be seen drawing ice magic into his gauntlet from the body of a slain frost giant, shapeshifting into a bird to get the drop on an enemy, and firing an arrow that teleports him to its landing spot.

The expansion is set to release on March 10, 2022, and is available now to preorder for $39.99USD. Anyone who purchases Dawn of Ragnarök between now and April 9, 2022, will receive the in-game Twilight pack that comes with skins for both Eivor’s raven and horse along with a themed armor set and weapon.
