Hot on the heels of Microsoft’s Xbox Series X announcement, CD Projekt Red has announced that it will be giving all owners of the Xbox One version of Cyberpunk 2077 a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X version when it releases. This is awesome news as fans of the studio are likely to do multiple playthroughs of the title and having to stick to an older version when you have a shiny new console is unfortunate. While specifics of the Cyberpunk 2077 upgrade program are still unknown at this time like if the upgrade will also apply to disk versions of the game, it is great to see it happen for the players. When the PS4 and Xbox One came out, a few games offered a similar free upgrade when you bought the digital editions of the titles including games like Call of Duty and Destiny. While this promotion has only been announced for Xbox so far I wouldn’t be to shocked to see PS5 upgrades get included when the game does finally launch.
