The remaster of 1996 classic, Duke Nukem 3D, is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch with new content and features. Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour first released across PC, PS4, and Xbox One back in 2016 and was a well received update to the original. The Switch port is being handled by SONKA Games and includes motion aiming, HD rumble, and local wireless multiplayer options. An entirely new episode (Episode 5) has also been developed for this release that features 8 new levels from Duke 3D’s original designers Allen Blum III, and Richard “Levelord” Gray. New music from Lee Jackson and dialog from Jon St. John has also been made for this new episode to give it an authentic Duke Nukem feel.

I joined the Duke Nukem 3D development team in the mid-nineties and am proud to have been a part of the emergence of the 3D First Person video game genre that would enhance the entire video game industry. This project has made it possible for us to reconnect with first person pioneers Allen, Richard, Lee, Jon, Ken, Bobby and others to all be able to come back together to not just be nostalgic, but to have an opportunity to enhance our original work and even bring something new, including an entirely new episode added to the classic game. Today, we are thrilled to have the entire Nintendo Switch family join us on this adventure.
