A game that many have been looking forward to since it was first announced back at The Game Awards 2019 is the ARPG version of the iconic card game Magic: The Gathering that is simply called Magic: Legends. While developers Cryptic Studios and publisher Perfect World Entertainment were originally aiming for a 2020 release on PC, it looks like we are actually going to have to wait until 2021 for both PC and console releases. At least it will be a free-to-play ARPG once it does hit the digital stores!
Leading up to release, they are starting to reveal more of the game and they have started with one of the five starting planeswalkers called the Sanctifier. Taking on the embodiment of the games white mana, the Sanctifier is a long-range fighter that has the ability to heal their allies while taking down their enemies. Their moves include both Devine Bolt and Wave of Radiance to fight their enemies, but for healing, they would use Salvation. When using Salvation, they will regenerate health, heal their summons, and gain a stack of Devotion, but on the fourth use of Salvation, they will be accompanied by an Angel with Lifelink who will help them fight.
As a big fan of classic ARPG titles and a collector of the Magic cards myself, I am really excited to see this game continue its development! We may not see this game this year, but hopefully, it will be early 2021 when we get to first play it. Until then, I look forward to seeing the planeswalkers of the other four mana’s.
