The Vivaldi web-browser is doing something new when it comes to the possibilities you can expect when using them as your engine. Today they’ve released Vivaldia, a pixel-art arcade-style running game set in a world where humans and technology are colliding. The protagonist, Vivaldia is set out on a journey to try and save her city from the evil forces taking over. You’ll race around on her cybernetic ninja one-wheeler outrunning and outsmarting enemies to defeat them and restore peace to her beloved city.

Vivaldi CEO Jon von Tetzchner spoke about the game saying, “Our goal with Vivaldia is not only to give users a great fun game in the browser but to tell our own story – about how Vivaldi is taking the technology behemoths head-on and continues to crusade against the concentration of power that lies in a few global corporations”.

You can play the game both online and offline on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. It’s also playable on Android devices, Chromebooks, and tablets as well. The best part though, in my opinion, is the fact that the game includes gamepad support. Vivaldia can be accessed right from the home screen of the Vivaldi browser by clicking the floating button.
