SCORN Launches Later This Year Exclusively On Xbox Series X

Shortly after Xbox’s 20/20 online showcase, independent studio Ebb Software revealed that their upcoming first-person horror game, Scorn, would be launching exclusively on the Xbox Series X. Planned to release alongside the Series X at launch, Scorn was presented as part of the powerful lineup of games eventually making their way onto the next-gen console.

The method of presentation was a brand new, eerie, and unsettling trailer for the upcoming horror adventure. The trailer focuses on the world that players will be exploring, and does a great job at creating a dense and foreboding atmosphere.

When asked about Ebb Software’s collaboration with Xbox, Game Director, Ljubomir Peklar had this to say:

“For us as developers, it's imperative to present Scorn in the best way possible. The distinctive art style is only half the story - the other half is having all the technical parts of the game running smoothly. That’s where our partnership with Microsoft and their next-generation Xbox Series X console comes in. Xbox Series X is an extremely capable piece of hardware that will enable us to run Scorn at 4k 60fps with all the graphical bells and whistles. Ease of development and raw processing power are the primary reasons we chose to go exclusively with Xbox Series X. Players on Series X will experience an uncompromising version of Scorn.”

Described as a “claustrophobic underworld populated with misshapen organic forms dripping with unnamed fluids”, Scorn will force players to rely on their senses and instincts to guide them through a non-linear playing field. The environment itself is described by the developers as its own character and features many areas, all with their own puzzles and characters.

Scorn is scheduled for a Holiday 2020 release as an Xbox Series X exclusive.
