Arcade sports titles have always been among my favorite games to play when between major releases. I have never been into real sports very much so they served as a manner to know what they were about without being engrossed in them and one of my favorites was NBA Jam! Over the years sports games have shifted to full-on simulations and I personally have never enjoyed them as much as those older arcade-style games. Now, whenever an arcade sports title comes around I try to pay attention and Ranida Games might have just a game to fit the bill, PBA Basketball Slam: Arcade Edition.
PBA Basketball Slam: Arcade Edition is a new PC port of the successful mobile title Basketball Slam 2020! which has accrued over 10 million downloads since it was released. The PC port will feature traditional 2v2 arcade gameplay with over the top physics and dunks. The game can be enjoyed with controller or keyboard and mouse and supports up to 4 players in local play. By utilizing Steam’s Remote Play Together feature, you can even play with your friends who live to far away to come and play in your living room!

At launch, the game will include campaign and quickplay game modes with more to come during development. A number of authentic Philippine Basketball Association teams and players will also be included. Ranida Games is based out of the Philippines so I think it’s pretty cool they are able to give their league representation throughout the world! Fun fact, the PBA is the second oldest basketball league in the world and the first one in Asia. Neat don’t you think?!
