Developer WayForward has just announced over a series of tweets that their charming, hand-drawn, anime-esque 2D Platformer, Shantae Half-Genie Hero, is getting a Nintendo Switch release.
WayForward will be publishing the digital version of the game and thanks to a partnership with XSeed Games it will also get a physical cartridge release. I'm actually excited to see that more and more fun games both recent and old are getting the Switch treatment, even if they are ports from other consoles. It's also nice to see that despite being a port the developer is still putting in some effort to add special features exclusive to the Switch. This version of the game will include 150 custom-made HD Rumble events. Thus far, not many games have made full use of the HD Rumble feature so hopefully this game does something interesting with it given that they're going through the trouble to advertise it.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is set for release on the Nintendo Switch some time this Summer.
