Shigeru Miyamoto Doesn't Appear Interested In A SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE Remake

For those of you holding out hope for an HD version of Super Mario Sunshine, don't get your hopes up. Shigeru Miyamoto has his eyes set on moving forward, and when it comes to remakes he's just not that interested. The Nintendo icon shares his reason why in the quote below:

"I don’t really feel like I want to remake any of them. It’s more natural to always create new mechanics and new games."

Miyamoto says that, yet Nintendo still re-released Super Mario 64 with three additional characters on the DS version. Nintendo also re-released The Legend Of Zelda: Windwaker with a few new mechanics as well as that selfie camera that gave us this fantastic video:

Maybe Miyamoto just needs something more to offer than the base game of Super Mario Sunshine? Even if we don't get a remastered version of the game, surely Nintendo would bundle it in a virtual console release of some kind, right? If not, let's hope Miyamoto gets inspired to add something to his Gamecube title sooner than later.
