Splatoon 2, Nintendo’s first-party shooter has evolved once again after receiving a major update from the company that introduced a new game mode among other things. Update 2.1.0 is already available to download for the Nintendo Switch now, and the biggest change the update is introducing is a new game mode called Clam Blitz.

In Clam Blitz, the objective is to throw as many golden clams to your opponent’s basket. However, you’ll first need to break your opponent’s basket by creating a Power Clam, made by picking up 10 normal clams scattered all around the stage. Once the opposing team's basket is open, your team can now collect clams and shoot them in the other team’s basket. Whoever throws the most clams will win the game. Check out Nintendo’s introduction of the new game mode below:

Besides Clam Blitz, the update also tweaked numerous weapons in game and fixed more issues players used to experience. You can check out the detailed patch notes from Nintendo here.

The last time Nintendo updated Splatoon 2 was last November. Update 2.0 added numerous gear, increased the level cap, and introduced the ability to change weapons in the middle of battle without having to leave the lobby. With Nintendo passing the 10 million mark for the number of Switch’s sold this year, Splatoon 2 will definitely be enjoyed by more players.
