STAR WARS: SQUADRONS Gets Its First Trailer And An October Release Date!

Tune in June 15, 8AM PT, to get briefed.

EA has released the trailer for Star Wars: Squadrons earlier today and it looks exciting! While the trailer was a cinematic one without gameplay, it helped to reveal a lot about the upcoming title. First off, the game will be set post Return of the Jedi in the waning days of the Empire. The campaign will feature missions set on both sides of the conflict giving you a deeper look into the story. While the main pilots you play as are original to Squadrons, it does look like there will be a number of cameos from fan-favorite characters including Wedge Antilles!

In addition to the single-player campaign, a 5vs5 multiplayer mode will also be included with Squadrons. Playable modes include dogfighting, your squad vs another squad for aerial supremacy, and fleet battle, the first squad to destroy an enemy capital ship is the winner. As an added bonus, crossplay will be supported across PC, PS4, and Xbox One! A number of unlockables will also be included in Star Wars: Squadrons including power-ups and customization options. It is stressed that every unlockable in the game will be earned by playing and leveling up and that there will be no microtransactions!

The full gameplay revealed is slated for EA Play Live on June 18 and I for one can’t wait to see it! Star Wars: Squadrons is slated for release across PC, PS4, and Xbox One with full VR support coming to PC and PSVR. The game is slated to launch on October 2, 2020, for a price of $39.99 with pre-orders open now.
