Summer Games Done Quick 2023 Starts Tomorrow: Everything You Need To Know

One of the largest annual speedrunning events is about to begin once more and Games Done Quick (GDQ) is prepared to showcase skill, patience, and charity all week long! Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) 2023 begins tomorrow, May 28th, and will run 24/7 until June 4th. A full week of speedrunners trying to beat world records, personal bests, and help raise money for the honorable Doctors Without Borders charity.

This year's SGDQ features an amazing lineup of exciting runs, including a blindfolded Breath of the Wild run by Bubzia, the entire Elder Scrolls Anthology by Chronos_R, an 8-person Super Mario Maker 2 relay race, and an any% glitchless run of Elden Ring by Mitchriz – the game that saw SGDQ 2022 hit the 3 million dollar mark. If you want to check out the full schedule, click here.

To date, GDQ has raised over $43 million for charity across events! In 2023 alone, they raised $2.6 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation at AGDQ 2023 and $150k for the Malala Fund during the all-women Frost Fatales 2023 event.

Be sure to find your favorite games and/or your favorite speedrunners on the schedule so you know when to turn in to the GDQ Twitch, which will be running the entire week during the event! Good luck runners and let’s raise some charity funds!
