The multi-annual charity speedrunning team Games Done Quick (GDQ) has once again started off the new year with a successful Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) event. The event took place from January 8th to the 15th and managed to raise $2,642,493 USD for the Prevent Cancer Foundation!

During AGDQ 2023, the following world records were broken:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge: Co-op Any% Arcade Old Patch by Benja and Paul-Knives (56:18)
Super Mario Galaxy 2: Any% with Bank Run by Jhay (2:54:51.33)
PowerWash Simulator: 6 Players, All Vehicles, No Soap by Amyrlinn, Bullets, Biglaw, Enigma Requiem, AngelicKnight, and Acadiel (33:31.7)
Steven Seagal Is: The Final Option (Prototype): any% 9 exits by Crak Atak (21:44.6)

Now that AGDQ has concluded for this year, they have begun looking forward to their next events. Coming up on February 26th to March 4th is the all-women winter speedrunning event Frost Fatales. Then, Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) 2023 will also return May 28th to June 4th. All GDQ events can be seen live on their official Twitch page or watched later on their YouTube channel.
