The KINGDOM HEARTS Series Makes Its Way To Switch

After revealing the news that Sora would be Super Smash Brothers Ultimate’s final fighter at yesterday’s Direct, series director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that the entire Kingdom Hearts franchise is coming to the Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming.

The announced games coming to Nintendo’s portable system are Kingdom Hearts – HD 1.5+2.5 ReMix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3. The first two titles are collections that include Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage.

This release marks the first time the entire franchise has been brought over to a Nintendo platform, though previous entries have appeared on the Nintendo systems before. The original Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was a Game Boy Advance exclusive title, and other titles release exclusively for different iterations of the Nintendo DS family of consoles.

The announcement was shared by the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account alongside the announcement that a special event is planned to celebrate the series upcoming 20th anniversary. The Kingdom Hearts series will come to Nintendo Switch sometime soon via cloud gaming technology.
