Well, this is unfortunate but it looks like Sony is delaying the release of The Last of Us II indefinitely. The reason given for the delay comes down to the current state of the world in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sony states that the launch wouldn’t be up to the standards gamers expect from the release.
Naughty Dog has also released a statement about the delay on its official Twitter that mirrors the same sentiments. They also want gamers to know that the game is almost finished as they worl on cleaning up the last of the bugs!
Normally a month or 2 before the launch of a game it will go gold and the physical copies will be manufactured. Because COVID-19 has had an impact on every workplace it makes sense that this isn’t the case and is completely understandable. The game will likely get a new release date in a matter of weeks so lets try to be patient and understand things are crazy right now!
