Indie developer Door 407 recently announced that the release of their upcoming real-time strategy (RTS) game Diplomacy is Not an Option has been postponed. The game will now launch in Steam Early Access on February 9, 2022.
In Diplomacy is Not an Option, you play as a medieval feudal lord caught in the throes of a midlife crisis, responsible for the lives of your subjects and the management of your city. You’re also bored out of your mind. Lucky for you, your scouts have reported in with some exciting news: a massive force of bloodthirsty enemies, monsters, and angry peasants will soon be at your gates. Better get those defenses ready!
When you have over 10,000 enemy units bearing down on your city, it’s important to keep a level head. As the game goes on, you’ll need to keep your economy running smoothly so your army stays supplied. Consider your gates, weapon trajectories, lines of advancement, and possible retreat routes. Create kill zones and fallback positions. Oh, and watch out for the land’s ancient magic. It might be able to raise the dead and create more problems for your troops, but it can also be used to call down massive balls of fire on the enemy.
Unfortunately, those anticipating the release of Diplomacy is Not an Option must bide their time a couple of weeks longer. At least you can check out the latest game trailer below.
