THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have just announced a new Darksiders game to the public via a teaser trailer, but there is little to no detail related to the setting or story, which means we will have to wait patiently for future updates.
The description simply reads: Be prepared to ride again...
This is first time we have heard about a new entry to the series since Darksiders Genesis released back in 2019. Many thought the series to be abandoned but it seems that the IP could be getting a second chance at life.
While Darksiders 1 to 3 were closer to Legend of Zelda games, Darksiders Genesis was a top-down shooter and while it sold well and performed well in terms of critics, it still didn’t do anything that fans were hoping for.
There is also a separate quote related to the tease (Xbox Wire):
“It won’t be long until we reveal more about where the Darksiders series is going next, but for now, know this… the Four Horsemen will ride again.”
I know I am excited for the return of the series.
