Developer and publisher Empty Clip Studios took it upon themselves to bring a blast from the past back to life with Gargoyles Remastered. A remaster I didn’t know I needed until seeing it. Originally released on the SEGA Genisis in 1995 Gargoyles was a 16-bit side-scrolling platforming adventure game based on developed by Disney. Now with a shiny new coat we’ll get to experience the nostalgia with updated graphics and mechanics.
A feature that I love to see and hope to see more often in remasters is the ability to switch back and forth instantly between the old and new graphics. Gargoyles was a game that I played a lot growing up and it wasn’t something I expected to see redone in my lifetime so I am excited to replay this game. The sidescrolling gameplay would work perfectly for handheld gaming, so I will definitely be looking out for it on Nintendo Switch.
Gargoyles Remastered will be available October 19th, on PC via Steam and GOG, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
