BLASPHEMOUS Gets An Unholy, But Free, DLC On All Platforms!
For some players, the initial game and playthrough of Blasphemous just didn’t provide enough suffering to give them true penance. Aware of this desire for more punishment, developers The Game Kitchen and publisher Team17 have provided a new DLC called “Stir of Dawn” to provide an unholy amount of new content! Now players can experience further challenges through a New Game Plus mode, a fresh storyline, and Three Penitences.
This new storyline shows us an ancient creation of the Miracle named Laudes who has awoken to challenge The Penitent One, thus players begin a new journey to defeat the five Amanecidas. During this new journey, players will find new items, perform new executions, venture through new areas, use a new map system, and flourish through the various gameplay tweaks they have implemented to improve the game. As mentioned, this new mode, which is called “New Torment,” will have Three Penitences for players to choose from:
Unwavering Faith is aimed at players who want to use magic, meaning you regenerate fervour, but your sword damage is cut in half.
Bleeding Heart introduces a more classic gaming experience, featuring a set of stocks instead of a life bar. Enemies also respawn when entering rooms.
True Guilt is a Penitence that sees players lose maximum fervour when they die. Similar to the main game, it saves it in a fragment that can be collected but is lost if met with death prior to its collection.
This free DLC has brought the unholy update to all platforms the game is available for, so once you have the game, you also have Stir of Dawn. Whenever you are ready to further atone for your sins, the New Torment awaits your return Penitent One.
