Since Dead by Daylight’s recently released Chapter “Portrait of a Murder” has been performing so well, the team over at Behaviour Digital wanted to give back to their players with both gifts and a statistics tell-all. While they did post all of this information for the latest chapter in a detailed blogpost, which includes the behind-the-scenes video above, here are the Top 10 Numbers unveiled for game overall statistics.
48 million: New record of Dead by Daylight players across all platforms globally
3 million: Approximate number of players from Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America.
2 million: New record-breaking daily average players, all platforms included
760,000: Number of players from Mexico.
230,000: Number of players from Chile.
100,000: number of concurrent users who played Dead by Daylight on the Epic Games Store over the first weekend the game was available.
217: Number of days required to create Portrait of a Murder (which equals to a total of 22 years of work if one person were to create the Chapter alone!)
100: Number of developers who worked on the development of Portrait of a Murder.
7: Number of creative steps required for iterating the gameplay mechanics as well as the visuals of each character before they’re released.
4: Number of Latin American characters in Dead by Daylight: Carmina Mora, Jane Romero, Jonah Vasquez, and Ace Visconti.
As for the goodies they are offering to the player base, they are doing a few offers. For starters, each day that a player logs in until January 6th will be provided with a form of in-game currency. Each gift period begins at 11 AM ET and ends 24 hours later. They have also added an ugly sweater cosmetic option for both Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine for those who have the Resident Evil characters to enjoy.
Lastly, a bunch of freebies for those with an Amazon Prime membership. Prime Gaming and Dead by Daylight are joining up for a series of monthly content drops aimed at giving players a special run of cosmetics to help grow their collections. The first Content Drop will be available until January 10th and it will allow players to stalk the Entity’s Realm in style with a pair of Rare Outfits for The Artist: the Altered Perception and the Deluded Perception.
Seeing these numbers make me want to get back into this game as I used to when it was practically the only thing I played. The statistics are impressive on their own and they truly are showing no sign of slowing down the continued new content for the game. They already revealed their next chapter will be featuring the Ringu after all! What do you think of this data reveal and player gifts?
