The wait from the first day that Mortal Kombat X was announced to the day I got to slide the beautiful game disc into my PS4 was long and painful. To help deal with that pain I played a lot of Mortal Kombat 9 on my Vita. It made it possible to throw down a good Scorpion-style beating at any given point during the day. I actually got to the point where I logged more hours on my Vita version than when I originally bought the game on the PS3. But sadly, any dreams of seeing the Mortal Kombat franchise return to Sony's awesome, if somewhat forgotten, handheld have been dashed. Series creator Ed Boon confirmed on his Twitter yesterday that Mortal Kombat X will never get a PS Vita port. I suppose the subpar mobile game will be the only way to take this new generation of Kombat with us on the go.
