I finally got to get some hands-on action with the upcoming Attack on Titan video game! I've been wanting to play this game ever since it was first announced, and as a fan of the anime, my expectations were set pretty high. In the short time that I played the game, I had an absolute blast!
It was a little rough at first trying to learn how to play the game because there's a lot of button combinations to learn because of the 3D Maneuvering Gear. Once I got the hang of it, though there was no stopping me! I was slicing the limbs off of the Titans and brutally destroying them and bathing myself in the blood of the Titans.
The part of the game I played centered on me saving people from being eaten by the Titan's invading the city. The game pretty much retells some of the key moments from the first season of the anime, there are also some new scenarios involving the key characters included in the game. There's another cool aspect of the game that was recently revealed, though, and it involves Eren. You get to play Eren as a Titan!
I didn't get a chance to play that part of the game, but here are the details that were recently released by Koei Tecmo:
Following the plot-twisting events of the hugely successful anime series Attack on Titan, players will be able to take control of protagonist Eren’s powerful Titan form and get up close and personal with the eerily human-like creatures! Transforming into this titanic beast replaces Eren’s ODM gear and blades with fists.
Koei Tecmo America also released a new gameplay trailer showcasing the newly-revealed feature’s unique play-style! This action-packed new trailer features Eren’s explosive transformation, as well as the game’s main playable characters, and focuses on the fast-paced battles, towering Titans, and claustrophobic atmosphere of Attack on Titan.
The game is extremely action packed and very fast-paced. You can get a little tease of what this game has to offer in the new trailer and gameplay footage below. If you're a fan of the anime, this is a game that you won't want to miss out on!
The game is set to be released later this summer in August and I'm definitely buying myself a copy!
