This summer has seen the release of some truly magical games! But that’s just the beginning, as the rest of this year will see some very magical games releasing, and luckily for us, we were able to check out a couple that have released demos! So, let’s talk about them!

Ritual of Raven

When it comes to wonder and whimsy, Ritual of Raven is just the thing! Offering a cozy witchy farming sim with enough charm to fill a cauldron, Ritual of Raven is exactly the vibe I need to get my head in the right place for the quickly approaching spooky season.

I think that my favorite aspect of this game is the way that its world has been executed. From the characters you meet to the environments themselves, you feel at home within its uncanny world. This world is very reminiscent of something like Adventure Time, which is something I think we haven’t explored enough in games. Be sure to check out our full review in August!

Tavern Talk Stories: Dreamwalker

On the flip-side of the magical coin comes Tavern Talk Stories: Dreamwalker, a title that makes the fantasy world feel much more like a world not too far from the one we live in now. It normalizes its fictional world in a way that it feels commonplace.

When it comes to its gameplay, Dreamwalker is very low-stakes in terms of difficulty, opting for players to just feel intertwined in its various stories amongst its characters. The drink concoction aspects of the game have been fun so far, and while simple, very engaging for players like me who are new to this sort of gameplay cycle. I’m very excited to see how the full game comes together!
