First Impressions: DRAGONBALL XENOVERSE 2

When the first trailer for Dragonball Xenoverse 2 came out around E3, I made the statement that it essentially looked like a polished remaster of the original. After playing the demo at SDCC, I stand by that statement. You are essentially playing a better, more polished version of Dragonball Xenoverse...with a couple differences.

For starters, the graphics went from "straight out of the anime" to "they remastered the anime".

It's not often a game manages to look better than it's source material but I think this new installment did just that. When I played at Comic-Con, I was limited to the 2 player experience, which ran notably smoother than the first game.

The combat was still fluid, but this time the hitboxes seem correct and we don't have weird glitches halting battle or messing up what has been the most dynamic Dragonball Z fighting experience yet.

As much as I loved what I played, I do have to concede this is practically the same game people bought 2 years ago with a facelift. Not much has changed other than the story and the annoying stuff, and honestly that's enough for me. I can see some people passing just on principle alone and I can't fault them for that.

I'll probably be purchasing this game when it drops in October, but ultimately it just depends on what I've already bought that month because it's going to be such a stacked release month.
