The Gears of War franchise has been successful, but it's safe to say it's multiplayer experience has left some to be desired. The game has been buggy across all versions on multiplayer and some gamer's expressed intense anger that when playing the beta for GOW4, these problems were still around.
Even still, the GOW4 development team really seems to be making strides to make this an original and fun experience for more than hardcore fans of the series. This begins with the announcement of a new mechanic, "Core" and "Competitive" tuning.
These new categories will be implemented on all game modes with "core" being the experience for all players and, as you would imagine, "competitive" for higher skill players with tweaked settings. As of now, it's confirmed that Escalation and Execution will for sure be "Competitive" modes. In a lengthy development interview, the developers laid out the major changes from Beta to final version...
Hammerburst went from 6 shot burst to 3 shot and will now beat a Lancer in long range...
Dropshot explosion radius has been lowered and given team colored lasers...
Only one frag can be tagged to a wall now
Players can now roll off a frag tag and smoke grenades will need more grenades to make a decent push...
There might be still changes to come, but this is the major things right now...is it enough? What do you think?
