On this day, a quarter of a century ago, Sega released Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the first game in the Sonic series that included the blue speedster's now-iconic sidekick Tails. Sega is celebrating this beloved game “by making the 2013 remastered version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 from Taxman and Stealth (of Sonic Mania fame) free-to-play (ad-supported) on iOS and Android devices.”
