If you thought that paying $100 to have every character in Injustice 2 was the end of the cash grab, we have some bad news. NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that the game will contain microtransactions called Source Crystals. These Source Crystals (via DualShockers) will allow players to purchase premium skins in the game as well as color shaders for said costumes. Premiere skins will turn your hero into an alternate hero with the same abilities. For example, a premiere skin is confirmed to turn Supergirl into Power Girl and Hal Jordan into Jon Stewart.
I'm not at all surprised by the news, but I am disappointed that NetherRealm can't find it in their hearts to allow anything to be simply unlocked without first swiping a credit card. Injustice 2 launches May 16th.
