What originally started as a fan-made Mother 4 has gradually shifted over the game’s years in development. On a Reddit AMA, the team explained the new direction in design and intention, and why it would no longer be a fan-made project created as a sequel for Mother 3.
The resulting game is called Oddity, a fantasy RPG set in the ‘70s. The protagonist is Travis Fields, who falls into the ordinary-boy-who-will-save-the-world trope. To accomplish that, Travis will have to rely on his friends and his trusty weapons—the baseball bat and pellet gun. But that’s not all! There are powers that he possesses. He must learn to use them now to navigate the perilous world. Adults, demons, and secrets abound in the universe of Oddity.
The team behind Oddity promises an unforgettable adventure full of quirky characters and a lot of fun.
