As we get closer to the launch of the completely remade game, Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated, we have learned that they launched pre-orders for the physical edition with collection options. THQ Nordic and Purple Lamp Studios continue to share more news about the remake, giving anticipating players more reason to get excited for its release on June 23rd for Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Not only is this game going to be a faithful remake with high-end graphical qualities and polished gameplay, but they even restored content that was cut from the original game like the Robo Squidward boss fight and more. Now they have announced that they are adding a multiplayer aspect to the game with a brand new “horde mode” for friends to team up together both online or with couch co-op. You and a friend can now team up against Robo-Squidward with a multiplayer that contains 26 islands and 7 playable characters, all with unique attacks.
It’s always great to see developers make games as true to the original as possible when making a remake, but it’s even better to see them go above and beyond to include something that should have been in the original anyways.
