In an announcement as part of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest Live presentation this week, Annapurna Interactive, Angel Matrix, and Ben Esposito revealed that Neon White will be launching in just a few short days on June 16th, 2022. The announcement came by way of a new trailer that shows off more of the game’s character interactions and fast-paced, card-based gameplay.

Neon White is an action-adventure game that follows the titular character on a quest to cleanse Heaven of a demon infestation. If White can manage to out-perform his fellow Neons, he might just earn redemption in the eyes of God, but he’ll have to find the fastest and most creative route through each level in order to do so.

To do this, players will need to master the card-based system that defines Neon White’s gameplay. Picking up a card grants a weapon that can be fired at demons to eliminate them, but discarding the card grants White a single-use, navigational ability like a mid-air jump or a dash. Outside of combat, White can interact with and befriend some of the other characters around Heaven, and he can even give them gifts that can be found hidden throughout the levels.
