Review Roundup: Star Wars and Cronos on Switch 2, Elgato 4K S, Hell is US and More!

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: We here at GameTyrant have been absolutely bombarded with so many products and games this year already. We will be rolling out select quick reviews to let our audience know about products, games, and, DLC that may have slipped under their radar. We appreciate the amazing support from all publishers and developers out there!

Another month, another avalanche of gaming and hardware goodness! While we will never complain about having too much, this time of year is particularly challenging to keep up. That being said, let’s kick it off and get started!

Cronos: The New Dawn (Switch 2) shows once again why Bloober Team has become such a strong force in the horror space. We already raved about the amazing PC version, but this Switch 2 port deserves special mention for just how buttery smooth and polished it feels, especially in handheld mode. There’s something uniquely chilling about experiencing its creeping dread and eerie atmosphere on the go, and the studio’s stylish touch is present in every unsettling corridor and twisted design choice. If you’re looking for a portable horror game that’s both unique and impeccably crafted, this is an absolute must.

The Switch 2 had a bit of a slow start but now we are are in full steam ahead mode and we love it!

Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) continues what can only be described as a miracle month for Switch 2 ports, delivering one of the year’s biggest games in stunning form on Nintendo’s handheld hybrid. We already knew how impressive the PC version was, but to see a game of this size and scope — with massive open worlds, cinematic sequences, and detailed environments — run so well on the Switch 2 feels almost unreal. For both longtime Star Wars fans and newcomers eager for a galactic adventure, having a game of this magnitude in portable form is nothing short of incredible, making it another essential addition to the system’s growing library.

And yet again, the Switch 2 hits just keep on’ comin’! This game in particular shows the bright future and potential for the Nintendo handheld wonder.

Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC (Switch 2) delivers more of what fans already loved about the base game, offering additional levels, challenges, and environments wrapped in the same fun, energetic style. The formula hasn’t changed much — if you weren’t a fan of the core game, this won’t convert you — but for DK enthusiasts, this is a no-brainer. It’s an energetic, colorful addition that keeps the fun going, and fans will gladly gobble it up as another reason to jump back into the jungle.

Love DK? You’ll love this. Don’t care about DK? You won’t care about this.

Elgato Game Capture 4K S (Hardware) is a powerhouse of flexibility and versatility, making it an excellent choice for creators who want to capture crisp footage across a wide range of platforms. Whether you’re pulling gameplay from the latest consoles or diving into retro setups, including the Switch 2, this device handles it all with ease and delivers clean, professional-quality recordings.

While the accompanying software can occasionally feel a bit quirky and may require some patience to fine-tune, the hardware itself is rock solid. For streamers, content creators, or anyone looking to preserve gameplay at its best, the 4K S remains one of the most reliable and well-rounded capture solutions available today.

Neyyah (PC) came almost out of nowhere, but it’s immediately clear this hidden gem is a labor of love from developers who poured their heart and soul into the project. It plays like a heartfelt tribute to the days of Myst and other FMV-driven puzzle adventures, capturing that old-school sense of mystery and discovery.

While it’s not perfect and carries some of the quirks of its inspirations, the atmosphere, clever puzzles, and clear passion behind it make it a fantastic experience for fans of classic point-and-click adventures. It’s a love letter that resonates with anyone who remembers that golden age. Long live indie developers with passion and dedication!

Hell is Us (PC) is a strikingly unique game that wins you over with its atmosphere, haunting setting, and powerful presentation. The art direction and world-building are top-notch, creating an immersive environment filled with mystery and depth. While the combat is easily the weakest element, exploration and the game’s deeply thematic storytelling more than make up for it.

Players who appreciate narrative-driven games with distinctive visual styles will find plenty to love here, making it a standout for those who value experience and mood as much as mechanics. Exploration is key here and if that is your jam, this game is for you.

Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots (PS5) is exactly what fans of the series might expect: a charming, colorful, and addictive take on golf that makes every swing fun. It’s lighthearted and easy to pick up, with just enough depth to keep you playing “one more round.” While it doesn’t reinvent the wheel or bring any groundbreaking innovations to the table, it succeeds in being a thoroughly enjoyable diversion. If you temper your expectations and come in looking for a fun, laid-back golf experience, you’ll find plenty of reasons to smile here.

Groundbreaking? No. A blast to play? YAS!

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants DLC (PC) picks up right where the main game left off, delivering another slice of thrilling Indy action and adventure. This time, though, the setting leans more claustrophobic, putting the player in tighter, more confined areas compared to the sweeping scope of the base game. That doesn’t stop the charm or excitement, as the pulpy storytelling, fun set pieces, and classic Indiana Jones vibe remain intact.

For fans of the franchise, this DLC is an easy recommendation — it may not be as grand as the main story, but it’s still a must-play continuation of Indy’s adventures. Still, it’s Indy so, it’s awesome :)

Abyssus (PC) thrives on its chaotic gunplay and unique undersea-inspired setting, carving out a niche for itself in the crowded shooter landscape. The action is frantic and satisfying, with weapons that pack a real punch and environments that ooze originality.

Still, the game suffers from moments that feel a bit too chaotic and a lack of variety that prevents it from truly hitting greatness. Even so, it remains a blast to play and stands as a unique little gem that shooter fans should absolutely give a shot.

EA SPORTS Madden NFL 26 (PS5) might not be a revolutionary entry in the long-running franchise, but it does feel like one of the more polished releases in years. The stunning visuals and highly detailed animations breathe life into every play, and the on-field action feels tighter and smoother than before. While the formula hasn’t changed enough to sway skeptics, longtime fans will find this year’s edition to be one of the strongest in recent memory.

It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s rock solid — exactly what most Madden players are looking for year after year.

Dungeon Stalkers (PC) is yet another Unreal Engine 5 game that unfortunately struggles with optimization, making it tough to recommend at launch. Even on a high-end PC, the performance hits are frustrating, keeping the experience from fully clicking. That said, there’s potential lurking beneath the technical issues, with some intriguing dungeon-crawling ideas and a foundation that could evolve into something special.

With updates already rolling out, it may still grow into a solid experience, and for those desperate for a new dungeon romp, it’s worth keeping an eye on while the developers work out the kinks. Potential? Yes. Polished now? No.
