Fallout 76 had one of the most troubled launches in modern gaming and has been subject to endless memes, criticism, and well-deserved flak. I am not here today to argue or recall every up and down the game has had since its launch in October of 2018. What I am here to talk about is how much better the game is today in its current state and how awesome each recent Season has been including the latest, Season 14: Fight for Freedom.
Sure, there are plenty of microtransactions to be had as shown in the trailer above but what isn’t being showcased is just how good the game is especially compared to the launch build and how much quality content there is just in the base game, let alone all the seasonal content. The game still isn’t perfect but it’s a solid entry in the Fallout universe, especially for Fallout fans that either blew past it after poor reviews or just haven’t given it the chance it really deserves. Even though there is a multiplayer focus, you can play solo, with friends, or have some incredibly random adventures with strangers like I have.
I think Season 14 is the perfect excuse to dive back into Fallout 76 or even try it for the first time. You can easily find it for less than $40 out there and with hundreds of hours of content and quality exploration, it’s an incredibly solid value and one of the best redemption stories in modern gaming IMHO.
