Developer Awaceb and publisher Kepler Interactive have kicked off a new series of videos that give a glimpse into the wide, tropical world of their new sandbox game, Tchia.
The series will give viewers a chance to learn a little more about Tchia’s world and what inspired its creation. Much of the environments, culture, and characters are inspired by Awaceb’s co-founders’ childhood on the Pacific island of New Caledonia, which sits to the east of Australia.
The game’s story follows the titular Tchia, a girl whose father is kidnapped by strange fabric creatures called Maano. The Maano work for the evil ruler of the archipelago, and it’s up to the plucky young woman to save her dad.
Players will have plenty of skills at their disposal, with Tchia’s ability to project her soul into animals and objects. There are thirty species of animals to jump into, and hundreds of different inanimate objects that can also be used to get around.
The game will also come with a large cast of characters, fully-animated cutscenes, outfit customization, and even a fully-payable ukelele to try out.
Tchia is set for release in Spring 2023 and will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
