Star Wars Battlefront II's campaign length has been revealed, and it appears those who purchase can expect an experience ranging from 5-8 hours of game time. Producer David Robillard goes into detail as to why the game's campaign is that long below:
"We thought that around 5-7, maybe 8 hours is probably a good amount of time…we wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out."
That's not incredibly long, but it's also on par with most Call of Duty titles, so it's not like DICE went below the industry standard. Let's also not forget that the Star Wars Battlefront franchise has never been about the single-player campaign. Even back in the PS2 era the campaign took a back seat to the multiplayer mode, so it shouldn't be too surprising the devs didn't drop 20 hours into a deep single-player experience. 5-8 hours isn't an incredible length of time, but it's still the equivalent of two Star Wars films so it's something.
Are you upset about the length of the single-player experience, or are you more concerned about other things like the loot box situation the game makers have been forced to address? Star Wars Battlefront II is out November 17th.
