STAR WARS JEDI: SURVIVOR Gets Its First Performance Patch For PC And Consoles

EA and Respawn have just released their behemoth title Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to the public and it has been a bittersweet experience for some. Console players have seemed to be having a great time with the stellar title but PC players wish they could join in on the fun. The game has been suffering from frame drops, stuttering, and crashing issues since its launch on PC which is causing an uproar in the gaming community. Thankfully, Respawn pumped out a performance patch that seems to make the game playable in performance mode but we are still a few patches away from being “launch-ready.”

Upset gamers have resulted to review-bombing the game and rightfully so. There is no excuse to release a title that is unplayable at launch. All it shows is greediness for revenue and a lack of respect for the players. Looking at you EA! Unfortunately, this is a more common practice with AAA titles with giant publishers. A common practice that needed to end a while ago.

Console players have been pretty lucky with much fewer issues, mostly minor frame drops even in performance mode. This new patch aims to remedy performance issues and bring the game to where it needed to be at launch. Again, patching a game post-launch, especially a single-player-only title, in order for it to function properly. It is disrespectful to the players. Thankfully the game is one of the best Star Wars games ever made and is worth the wait.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
