Wild, Wild West
Expectations play a massive role when it comes to games, movies, TV shows and other forms of media. Case in point, going into the newly released DESPERADOS III on Steam, I wasn’t expecting much. Sure, the trailers and screenshots are checked out before were fine but my expectations were tempered. Several hours of gameplay later and you can color me impressed as the game is absolutely stellar so far.
A near-perfect mix of old and near is the secret to making a new entry with a series that was launched in 2001 and the latest entry was clear back in 2006. The audiovisual portion of the game is especially impressive with a ton of graphics options, massive zoom in/zoom out range that makes it perfect for planning your stealthy or guns blazing approach. Most of all though, the soundtrack and voice acting are top notch, bringing the motley crew you’ll be controlling to perfectly life.
