Twitch Streamer Conquers DOOM's "Unbeatable" Ultra-Nightmare Mode In A Little Over 5 Hours

**Update: Mick here, I messed up and thought the two videos were the same. Ultra nightmare speedrun is now included**

Don’t ever let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do, especially if you’re a speedrunner. Despite the fact that id Software stated that before release no one in their team was able to clear the Ultra-Nightmare skill setting, Twitch streamer and speedrunner, DraQu_, takes the honor of being the first to accomplish the feat. In case you’re not familiar with the mechanics of this mode, Ultra-Nightmare essentially sets the game at its highest difficulty as you battle hordes of demons armed better than Batman trying to take down the Justice League. Not just that, but if you die, you face permadeath. Let that sink in for a second. Yeah, that’s right, if you die you have to start over from the beginning of the game. Watch DraQu_’s impressive full run here...

A little more about our intrepid speedrunner, he is from Finland, a quick look at his YouTube channel shows us that he is highly accomplished at performing competitive speedruns of FPS games. As of the writing of this article, DraQu_ holds the world record for DOOM’s speed run, standing at 1:55:38.

Congrats to him! I know I’m nowhere near his level of accomplishment. Obviously there are still many trying to do the same and to best him at it, and we look forward to seeing that, but what they will never take away from him is being the first.
