A new NES app update will be releasing on July 17 and will include 2 new games for the online service, Donkey Kong 3 and Wrecking Crew. Both titles will be automatically added to the app once the update on July 17 completes so there is no need to worry about missing out on the titles. With these additions more than 40 NES titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch’s NES app! Check out the trailer below!

On July 17, two action-packed NES™ games are coming to the Nintendo Entertainment System™ - Nintendo Switch Online collection: the building-destroying Wrecking Crew™ and bug-exterminating Donkey Kong™ 3. But that's not all that's coming to the paid online service this month.

Nintendo has also announced that a new rewind mechanic will be introduced in this months update as well. Rewind has been a big part of various retro collections over the last few years, being included in various titles within the Rare Replay and the Mega Man Legacy Collection Part 1 for Switch. While purists may bemoan the feature, it will make getting through some of the included titles of the NES app more feasible for those who lack the time to do it normally. On July 17, a Rewind feature will be available to use with the entire collection of NES - Nintendo Switch Online games, allowing players to easily rewind gameplay by pressing and holding ZL + ZR if they make a mistake or just want to retry a section of the game!
