After launching their free-to-play Magic: The Gathering-based action-RPG title, Magic: Legends, Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios continue to improve the game further. While it is only in an open beta state, my first impression of the game has been quite positive and my experience within the game has continued since. Now, it seems the developers are ready to push the player base forward another step with both a new Planeswalker class and a new story arc!
This new Planeswalker is the Pyromancer class. Not only that, until 10am PT / 1pm EST today, players can claim this brand-new ranged caster class for free from the in-game store when they log into the game! The Pyromancer, its costume, and extra spells have also been added to early levels in the free track of the current Battlepass - and will be available in every subsequent Battlepass. If you want to get in the open beta before this offer is passed up, you can join through Arc Games and the Epic Games Store today.
As for the new Story Arc, we are finally going to reach a climactic moment that those following the story have been waiting for! In Chapter IV: Chasing Answers, the ancient and forgotten force that has moved silently in the darkness is stirring. The mysterious Planeswalker that players have been chasing through the various planes has been tracked to Benalia and Ral Zarek requires aid in confronting her, to finally get some answers.
Magic: Legends is planned to stay free-to-play once fully released and will also join the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms later this year.
