3D Realms and Jasozz Games are delivering an action-packed retro shooter this fall. Nothing smells better on a Friday night than the whiff of a modernized retro shooter. Cultic is looking to make your heart beat fast and give you a thrilling throwback to one of the best genres in gaming.

This first-person shooter has players control a detective recently awoken from an unmarked grave. As you venture through Northwestern America you must fight for survival as you encounter the twisted cult running rampant. Using only your wits and tools of destruction, can you make it out alive?

This is the first chapter of what is expected to be an ongoing series and players will be able to experience 10 different environments scattered through Northwest America. This includes dank facilities, abandoned mining towns, dark catacombs, and more. Just like recent retro shooters, this classic-looking title is bringing the throwback aesthetics but with a modern engine.

Fast-paced and brutal combat will be a huge draw to this title. Players will be able to take out enemies quickly with well-placed shots but the same applies to the player. It is necessary to constantly be on the move or take cover in order to make it through the level.

Cultic seems to be bringing that retro charm with modernized gameplay mechanics. I always have soft spot for this genre and they are a great way to experience the simplicity of how games were once played.
