The MMO genre in general is in a bit of an odd state. You have classics that have been running for a decade or more while an ever-increasing graveyard of failed projects continues to add to said plots. Whether or not it soars, AION 2 is coming in 2026 and the trailer is absolutely incredible.

AION 2 LAUNCHING THIS YEAR ON PC
NC America Confirms Steam Release for the Sequel to the Original AION
IRVINE, CA – APRIL 21, 2026 – NC America officially confirmed today that AION 2, the action-packed, open-world MMORPG, will arrive later this year on Steam and PURPLE platforms. Featuring flight as a signature experience, players can fly freely across a world 36 times larger than the original AION, dive underwater, and engage in aerial combat in PvE and PvP gameplay.
The AION 2 development team has invested deeply in building a version suited for global PC players and will be actively engaging with Western players and media throughout the year. The AION 2 development team will introduce more news for AION 2 in May, and looks forward to answering questions from the community.
First, the AION 2 global version is built specifically for PC.
Second, servers will be hosted locally in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. AION 2 will be localized to 10 different languages players can choose from in-game: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Third, starting today, global players can visit the AION 2 Steam page to Wishlist it and check out the official website for details and community activity.

AION 2 also offers a variety of PvP activities involving high-stakes fights, from 1v1 and 4v4 arenas to massive-scale, cross-server RvR (Realm-vs-Realm) battles, and the return of the faction-based Abyss from the original AION.
