The new installment in the lauded action series will be coming next month, as revealed at Nintendo Direct!
Bayonetta 3 will see the eponymous Umbra Witch teaming up with familiar faces from the past, such as the Journalist Luka, who makes a return from the previous game, as does fellow Umbra Witch Jeanne. But there will also be a new girl in training called Viola to join in the adventure. Together they will trek across the globe to bring down the Homunculi, manufactured bioweapons that have invaded.
The typical gun touting, high-heel twirling, demon-summoning combat makes a comeback, now with the addition of a new playable character, the aforementioned Viola. With her swords and magical darts, she offers a different set of moves for the player to experience.
For instance, when she blocks attacks at the right time, it will activate Witch Time, which will slow things down so you can land your counterblows. She can also summon her own demon: an adorable gigantic cat-like creature, appropriately named Cheshire. You use your sword to do this, so whilst Cheshire is summoned, you fight barehanded, offering different moves to play with, while the overgrown feline goes to town on all your other enemies.
Bayonetta 3 is developed by Platinum Games and will be coming to Nintendo Switch on October 28th, with pre-orders available now.
