A game that has been building a small fan base behind it as the solo developer Billy Basso has shown off bits of it has been chosen and announced as Bigmode Games first official publishing title! This game is Animal Well, a spelunking adventure with elements of horror, puzzles, and platforming. It still doesn’t have a release date yet, but this announcement confirms the title’s eventual launch on both PC and PlayStation 5.
Hatch from your flower and spelunk through the beautiful and sometimes haunting world of Animal Well. Encounter lively creatures small and large, helpful and ominous as you discover unconventional upgrades and unravel the well’s secrets. This is a truly unique experience that can make you laugh in fear, surprise, or delight.
The game will provide a dense, atmospheric, nonlinear journey for players to explore and collect items in whatever order they choose. While it gives a simplistic, pixelated appearance, the design of the environment and the beautiful yet unsettling creatures, it will be critical for players to assess what is safe and what is dangerous.
