Bring Me The Horizon (BMTH) has been all over the place when it comes to their sound and, despite what most of their fans say, that isn’t a bad thing.
I enjoy diversity in a band’s musical compositions; I think it is bogus for artists to be confined to a specific genre or style of music. Granted, if they enjoy that restriction, more power to them. But it is perfectly normal for a band to experiment with different styles, as long as they are doing it for themselves. The sound of BMTH has evolved over the years and “Ludens” is no exception to that trend. Their previous record, amo, was more pop-influenced than their previous works, but “Ludens” takes me back to their studio album That’s the Spirit. The track is heavier than anything on amo, and it delves into a more electronic sound.
“Ludens” was built for Death Stranding, and is definitely its own beast. You can give the track a listen down below.
What did you think of the track? Were you a fan of BMTH prior to hearing “Ludens”? Are you a fan now? Will you be picking up Death Stranding on November 8th?
