A new Bubble Bobble title is in development for the first time in 10 years! Even crazier is that it is being made by Taito, the company that originally made the series. Taito has had an interesting history of which you can read about here in AT’s awesome write-up! Taito has been owned by Square-Enix for a number of years now and nothing has really been developed by the company in the last 10 years. Honestly many of us were wondering if we would ever see a new Taito game again!
But here it is, A new Taito game at last and it is Bubble Bobble 4 Friends! This new entry in the Bubble Bobble franchise is looking to build off the signature gameplay of its predecessors. Things are going to be taken up a notch however as Bubble Bobble’s signature co-op mode is being expanded from 2 players to 4! Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is set to launch both physically and digitally on November 19 for Europe. Sadly for us in North America, release won’t be happening till 2020 for some reason. Either way I am just happy to see a new Bubble Bobble and Taito game in general and can happily wait! Check out the announcement trailer above.
