Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare sales numbers at launch are 48.5% lower than they were with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Eurogamer reports some of that lost revenue was undoubtedly due to not including the game on PS3 and Xbox 360, but even after removing those numbers you're down to around 43%.
Of course, Black Ops has always been an immensely popular series for the franchise, and even with their lower numbers Infinite Warfare still had a huge launch. Their game still sits close to the top spot in sales in the countries it launched in, but in some places, it's not the top seller.
So while I would love to beat my chest in pride and say the gaming community is finally speaking with their wallets, I'm not so certain that is happening. Undoubtedly some people decided to go Battlefield 1, but not as many as it would take for this game to be considered to be a failure by any stretch.
