Here we thought we were just going to get a more realistic version of table tennis to enjoy in VR at home and Merge Games releases a new trailer showing off how much more VR Ping Pong Pro is going to offer. I was already excited just to be able to start matching up with players that are of similar skill level and just being able to play the game in general, since it is a rare game to find these days. Now I see there is going to be more to look forward to in this game.
Featuring a few of the different customization options that players will have for their paddles, the latest trailer reveals some interesting game modes we wouldn’t be able to play with a real table. The arcade section of the game is going to have modes that range from simply practicing to interesting challenges to keep players on their toes. Of the different ones they gave a glimpse of in the trailer, the mode where the table was set up to look like a grid and the squares the ball lands on were falling away caught my eye the most. That mode alone is sure to take some casual, lightly skilled players to the next level.
Check out the customization and gameplay trailer for VR Ping Pong Pro and see it if doesn’t get you excited to see it launch on PSVR and PC VR for the Oculus, HTC Vive, and other VR headsets via Steam.
