I’ve played Rainbow Six Siege for years now, but this may be the first time I’ve desperately wanted to buy an elite set in the game. Normally, I wouldn’t want to spend extra money on cosmetics like that, but this is just so tempting.

Tachanka has been a meme for almost as long as the game has been around. The Russian operator has been a joke on the internet—and in the game—due to his massively situational and mostly useless functionality as a defender. The turret-wielding brute was just never needed and so easily circumvented.

But now! His rework is being shown off by Ubisoft and to celebrate the occasion, Lord Tachanka has an elite set outfit for the ages. It’s also presented in the most hyperbolic way possible. Flames, tanks, horses, and so much oiled skin.

I want the elite set. And I want to play as this new Tachanka. He’s been rebuilt from the ground up into a wholly new defender with a skill set that will test attackers with area denial effects. His new Shumikha Launcher fires heavy incendiary grenades with a timed fuse that activates after the first bounce. He also equips a destructive LMG that can really tear apart soft walls in the game. It should make him a versatile and intriguing defender to play as.
